Seen

Privacy Policy & Terms and Conditions

Effective Date: 30 June 2026

Seen is built to be private by default. The app has no account, no ads, and no advertising or tracking technology. Seen does not collect personal information, and the content you create in the app is stored only on your device. Please read the Apple App Analytics note in Section 1, which is the one limited exception and is controlled by you through your device settings.

1. Information We Collect

Seen itself does not collect any personal or identifiable information. There is no sign up, no login, no advertising identifiers, and no in-app analytics or tracking. The content you create stays on your device as described in Section 2.

The one exception is outside Seen's control: if you have turned on "Share With App Developers" in your device's Settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may share with the developer aggregated, anonymized diagnostic and usage statistics about the app, such as crash data and overall usage trends. This sharing is performed by Apple, is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, cannot identify you individually, and can be turned off at any time in your device settings.

2. Data You Create and Where It Lives

Your goals, tasks, habits, streaks, daily logs, wallpapers, and settings are stored only on your device using on-device storage. In the current version of the app this content stays on your phone and is not uploaded to or stored by the developer. If a future version adds an optional cloud sync feature, this policy will be updated before that feature is released, and any sync will be explained and put under your control.

3. Calendar and Reminders Access

If you allow it, Seen reads your calendar events and your Apple Reminders to display your day on the lock screen and in the app. This access is read-only and happens entirely on your device. Seen does not modify your calendar or your reminders, and does not transmit them to the developer or anyone else.

4. Photos Access

When you generate a wallpaper, Seen can save the image to a "Seen Wallpapers" album in your photo library. Seen only adds images you generate. It does not read, scan, or upload the existing photos in your library.

5. Notifications

Seen can send an optional daily reminder to plan your one thing. Notifications are generated locally on your device and are off until you turn them on.

6. Device Permissions

Calendar, Reminders, Photos, and Notifications permissions are requested only when needed and only for the purposes described above. You can change or revoke any of them at any time in iOS Settings.

7. Children

Seen is a general-audience productivity app. It is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). Because Seen does not collect personal information, there is nothing for it to collect from a child.

8. Your Rights (including EU/EEA and UK users)

Because Seen does not collect or process your personal information on any server, the developer holds no personal data about you to access, correct, export, or delete. You remain in full control of the content on your device at all times. If you have questions about your rights under the GDPR or similar laws, you can contact the developer using the details below.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

Your content lives only on your device, so you are always in control of it. Deleting the app removes its data from your device. Seen may also automatically prune very old completed items to keep the app tidy.

10. Security

Because your content stays on your device and is not transmitted to external servers, it is not exposed to the risks that come with transmitting and storing data online. Your information is protected by your device's own security features. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and the developer cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version will always be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.

Effective Date: 30 June 2026

Please read these Terms and Conditions ("Terms") carefully before using Seen ("the app"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. The App

Seen is a free productivity app that helps you keep your goals, streaks, tasks, and daily schedule visible on your iPhone lock screen and inside the app. The app is provided free of charge, with no ads, no subscriptions, and no in-app purchases.

2. Licence to Use

You are granted a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to download and use Seen on Apple devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use, in accordance with these Terms and with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions (including the standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement, the "Apple EULA"). Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict for an app downloaded from the App Store, the Apple EULA governs to the extent of that conflict.

3. Your Content and Your Device

You are responsible for the goals, tasks, and other content you create in the app, and for your own device. Because your content is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy), you are responsible for keeping your device secure and for any backups you may want. Deleting the app, resetting your device, or losing your device may permanently delete your content, and the developer cannot recover it for you.

4. Lock Screen Wallpaper, Shortcuts, and Calendars

Seen relies on features provided by Apple, including the Shortcuts app and its automations, the photo library, the notifications system, and the calendar database (which may include calendars synced from third parties such as Google or Outlook). The developer does not control these features or third-party services. Their behaviour, availability, and accuracy may change with iOS updates or with the third-party providers, and the app's wallpaper, schedule, or reminders may be affected as a result. The developer is not responsible for the content or accuracy of your calendars or for changes Apple makes to these features.

5. Not Professional Advice

Seen is a personal motivation and organisation tool only. It does not provide medical, psychological, financial, legal, or other professional advice, and it should not be relied upon as a substitute for professional judgement. Any goals, habits, or reminders you set are your own decisions and responsibility.

6. No Warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, reliability, and non-infringement. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that reminders or wallpaper updates will always appear on time. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, missed reminders, missed goals or deadlines, or other losses arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Because the app is provided free of charge, to the maximum extent permitted by law the developer's total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited accordingly. This section does not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

8. Intellectual Property

The app, including its name, design, and original content, is owned by the developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you. The content you create remains yours.

9. Changes to the App and These Terms

The developer may update, change, or discontinue the app or any of its features at any time. These Terms may also be updated from time to time; the current version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. The licence granted in these Terms ends automatically if you breach them.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights you have in your country of residence. This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
